Firestone Tyre Pressure Calculator
“More often than not, agricultural tyres are being run over-inflated, reducing their lifespan.” Firestone Business Development Manager, Barry Coleman.
Our smartphone app makes shorter work of this routine maintenance check.
At the heart of the problem for users is the difficulty in finding the correct pressure, due to the many variations in tyre size and usage.
Now they can follow a simple two-step process to find the correct pressure for each work situation. The benefit is extended tyre life and a reduction in overheads.
Complexity of the underlying data, covering over 200 different tyre options, made the development of this app equally complex; requiring detailed cross-checking of product manuals.
Our considerable expertise in app development helped us to deliver a robust and praiseworthy business tool.

As regular pan-European exhibitor, Firestone was keen to showcase the Tyre Pressure Calculator as a Mobile tool innovation in the agricultural industry.
Our joint solution was an iPad area on their stand where the App could be promoted alongside an automated presentation of its customer benefits.
For the Agritechnica audience in Hannover, Germany we created a simulation of the App’s features with dual language subtitles.
This was subsequently reworked in both Spanish and French for the FIMA agricultural show, Spain, held during February 2012.
Bridgestone Tyres UK
Collaborating with one of Bridgestone’s design and branding agencies, we created a new website to support a major roll-out programme of product changes within the retread tyre division. Launched in December 2010, it carried a video introduction by Bridgestone UK Managing Director, John McNaught. Following strict corporate branding guidelines, we included a slick Tyre Finder module and utilised Mail Chimp to create a monthly E-Shot news update campaign. < visit website >
Digital Unite
One of our founding customers. We have built many websites supporting their various projects including their company website. Throughout 2010 we built some enhancements to their nationally recognized Silver Surfers programme website and, more recently, designed and developed a new site to support their Get Digital programme. < visit website >
Master Gardeners
A national initiative from the UK’s largest organic charity, Garden Organic. Sponsored by the Big Lottery Fund, it promotes ‘grow-your-own-food’ with “master gardeners” inspiring others to join in. We worked closely with project manager Philip Turvil and despite challenging deadlines, delivered an inspiring and effective programme website. It has a number of “sub-sites” which represent new local authorities joining the programme and Google Docs behind a login allows the master gardeners to track their activities. < visit website >
LEADER
We are very closely involved with the LEADER programme, a three-year EU-funded initiative providing grants to rural projects within Europe. Central Warwickshire was awarded £1.6m to make innovative projects happen and the programme is now accepting Expressions Of Interest. < visit website >
European Commission
Project RURENER, funded by the Intelligent Energy Agency, identifies suitable rural communities then helps them deliver local sustainable energy solutions. As UK partner Ruralnet Futures sits on the monitoring board. Specializing in knowledge dissemination we delivered the programme website with WordPress Multi-User; particularly appropriate for this client with multiple sub-domains representing the different country sites in their own language. We are also implementing a dynamic, multilingual question and answer service. < visit website >
Efficient 20
Another EU commissioned project worth €1.6m. Its goal is the introduction and management of 300 pilot farms across 10 EU countries, to achieve 20% fuel savings by farming more efficiently. Ruralnet Futures has responsibility for building the EU wide database – which will track the pilot data as it is generated – the design and development of the multilingual website and coordination of 60 pilots within the UK. The programme website will soon be ‘live’ and our pilot farms identified and confirmed by the end of October 2010. We are delighted that Harper Adams University College has recently joined the programme as associate members. < visit website >
Shape Your Place
Working with Cambridgeshire County Council we designed this website to improve online community engagement between residents (who are often not native English speakers) and the Local Authority. Using Google translation modules we created a website that utilizes all the benefits associated with Web 2.0 in terms of sophisticated RSS feeds, pulling in content from other sources such as Flickr and YouTube, but one that that can be switched into any of five languages at the touch of a button. < visit website >
Unlocking Warwick
The Unlocking Warwick project is hoping to secure a Heritage Lottery Fund grant to help redevelop the town’s Court House. The website outlines the project objectives and encourages support from residents and interested parties to supplement the final application. We have included a neat “petition” plug-in that prompts website visitors to write a short comment. As each new message is logged and moderated, a homepage counter displays the growing number of supporters. < visit website >
Get Digital
This website outlines the Get Digital programme objectives, one of Digital Unites most recent projects. As beneficiaries of the programme are identified, their details are captured automatically on an integrated Google Map; an effective way in which project goals can be outlined and illustrated in an interactive manner. It is also a very good example of how multiple users, with different requirements, have access to different areas of the site through their unique login. < visit website >
The Kodokan Pro website is our first to support an iPhone application. The app outlines the entire Judo dictionary with supporting video material. We have implemented a Google translation module to the site supporting six languages and the app has now been sold in over 15 countries in its first 2 months of being released. < visit website >
